FAQ’S

  • Session times typically range from 10 to 20 minutes, depending on the area being treated. Afterward, patients may experience mild redness or slight swelling, but it is safe to resume normal activities immediately.

  • This treatment is effective on all skin types, anywhere on the body, at any time of the year - which makes it a great treatment for just about everyone!

  • Pre Laser Treatment

    • Avoid sun exposure, self tanners, tanning beds, two weeks prior and two weeks post treatment to reduce the chance of hyperpigmentation (darker pigmentation), burns and other adverse effects. Use sunscreen (SPF 30 or greater) at all times throughout the course of treatment.

    • Make sure area is free of lotions, perfumes, deodorant etc.

    • Shave treatment area 12-24 hrs before appointment

    Post Laser Treatment

    • Immediately after treatment, you may experience redness and swelling at the treatment site, which may last up to 2 hours or longer. The swelling may last up to 2-3 days.

    • Avoid saunas, hot shower/bath, hot tub for 24hrs after treatment

    • Avoid wearing deodorant for 24hrs following your treatment

    • Avoid sun exposure two weeks prior and two weeks post treatment to reduce the chance of hyperpigmentation (darker pigmentation), burns and other adverse effects. Use sunscreen (SPF 30 or greater) at all times throughout the course of treatment.

    • Avoid plucking or scratching the treated skin. Do not use any other hair removal treatment products or similar treatments (waxing, electrolysis or tweezing) that will disturb the hair follicle on the treatment area

    • Anywhere from 5-14 days after the treatment, shedding of the surface hair may occur and this often appears as though it is hair growth. To assist in the release of these shedding hairs, gentle exfoliating with a washcloth or scrubby gloves can be done in between sessions.

  • The number of sessions needed varies based on the patient and the area being treated. On average, 6 to 8 sessions are recommended to achieve optimal laser hair reduction results. Consultation with one of our Laser Nurses is highly recommended if you experience frequent hormonal changes and other medical issues.
